Lectures
I give lectures and hold seminars in english and german on a variety of design related topics.
Typography Basics
My most popular lecture. If you work in marketing or a related field and you always wanted to know more about fonts, readability and the value of typography for your communication, you should check it out. It’s a one day course and the topics include:
- The history of type
- The history of logos
- Basic principles of visual design
- Anatomy of letters
- Judging fonts
- Choosing the right font
- Fonts & branding
- Mixing fonts
- Readability vs. character
- Avoiding common mistakes etc.
Cultural Perceptions
This lecture is about how embracing another culture – the Japanese in my case – can help you see your own culture (and your own work) in a new light. This lecture should be interesting to anyone in the creative field as it shows you how important it is to change your stance and reflect upon your creative decicions. I first talked about this topic at the TYPO Berlin Conference in 2016.
Seminars
In addition to the lectures above, I also teach:
- Basics of digital photography
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
All my lectures and seminars can be tailored to your needs, just ask!
